Slowly but surely things are greening up here. My tree in the front yard has little leaf buds all over, and yards are starting to turn green again. Not mine of course. The people who lived here before, and apparently the owner before that, never watered it really. So, where I should have had good little grass seedlings in the backyard, we pretty much have a big mud bath, especially on days like today when it is raining. Oh, and it is a CLAY mudbath, which is even better. Oh yeah, lots of muck to stick to your shoes worse than dog poo, and much harder to get off. And if you let it dry on your shoes (thinking it will be easier to get off then) then it hardens like a rock. Break out the hammer and chisel.
But, there are beautiful daffodils popping up EVERYWHERE. Some are planted, and some just pop up in the middle of fields or on the side of the road. If they weren't on a main, busy road, or if I had more nerve, I'd be digging these babies up because they are so pretty.
Happy first day of Spring!
