Christmas 2007

Well, we survived Christmas. We had nasty colds, an annoying dog, friendly neighbors and lots of food. It was a great day. The kids really enjoyed all of their presents. I enjoyed having a crowd to cook for again.

Our neighbors from across the street came for dinner because they just closed on a new house (down the street) and most of it is still in boxes. They are a wonderful family and we always have a good time with them. The table was filled to capacity with food and people, and it was wonderful.

Yesterday I came down with the family cold. I think (hope) I am the last as everyone else has already had it and either recovered or in recovery phase. We did go out in the afternoon and we all went to see Alvin and the Chipmunks. However, I now remember why, although I love going to the movies as a family, we don't do it very often. BOY was that expensive! LOL

Anyway, here are a few pictures from Christmas Day.

The note to Santa, written by Katie. "Thank you for bringing toys to us. Love Katie, Meagan and Robbie I Love You Have a Merry Christmas to you"

Meagan modeling her new boots.

Katie and one of her new Webkinz. Santa brought this one.

Robbie and his Lego boat Santa brought.

And of course all 3 in front of the tree.

Ok, now this one needs an explanation. I usually cook a turkey in one of those bags. Well, Christmas Eve I realized I had a 17lb bird, and a bag only good up to 10 lbs. Hmmm. So, off to butterball.com I go to figure out how to cook a bird without the bag. One of the things they said was to put it on a rack. Well, I don't have one. So I improvised :) Reynolds company would be proud :) These little balls of foil were my rack, and it worked perfectly. Go figure. I wish I had a picture of the finished bird, because it really did look great, and it tasted even better.

I hope everyone had a joy filled Christmas.
